Have you ever thought about this? How do you feel about it? Just curious. Related to eBay.

I don't sell on eBay, but have wondered how sellers feel about this. You pay for a listing, yet, eBay lists similar items from other sellers at the bottom of the page that you paid for. As a buyer I like this, but as a seller I don't think I'd like it.

I have just come to ignore it / screen it out.
Buying I use AS search or some fav eBay source then search out item on AS.

Not a fan of it but on sales side don’t really let it distract me. I have 250 items (diversified inventory) on eBay which is enough to handle. My concern is Monthly sales volume / cost / profit / making margin target. Many things sell where I felt chances slim....others just sat there like some CAC coins I have. it’s not easy predict. eBay is like a huge worldwide show.

eBay is what it is, I just deal with it.

ads for other eBay items do not bother me as much as google ads that slow page loading, searching, and eBay revenue resulting from them (it is not like a free website).

I am glad I do not sell coins or other items.... seems like such a hassle....I have so many interests and each day is chock full of activity....do not need anything to distract me from the fun stuff.... :D;) Cheers, RickO

You do realize that it works both ways. It is also your items at the bottom of other people's pages.

I thought about this too, but several other listings will be on the bottom of your page. However, there's no guarantee that you're listing will be on the bottom of anyone's page. Seems like it's hit and miss. Like I said though, I love it as a buyer.

That's the type of seller that would love it. Way to go!

I personally don't like the "promoted" listings. I makes it harder for the average seller to sell the same items. Ebay allows sellers to give a percentage of the final sale value to promote their items over others and the higher the percentage the higher in the lineup your item will be. So this is giving dealers who get big discounts on bulk purchases from mints to put their items first and leaved the little guy in the mud trying to get there items noticed and still be able to turn a profit. One of the many reasons I am closing down my ebay store. I had over 700 items in April, but my sales basically dropped to nothing compared to the previous year, making it impossible to maintain my inventory and still have a profit. I had only 450 items listed at the end of October, most of the difference was all low priced items that the bigger dealers don't bother with. I have already canceled my ebay store subscription and reduced my inventory to 38 of the most popular items I had. I started a lawn care service this summer in order to keep paying bills.

The US Mint discount to bulk buyers is 5%.

For rare items, the things that show up are generally never exact matches so I don’t mind. I’d mind the exact same thing showing up for les but that comes with the territory as Amazon does the same thing.

For websites, even Heritage shows things before and after the lot. I don’t recall seeing other items on Stack’s website. For live bidding both show before and after items. The before and after items are typically related so it’s a bit similar.

Yes, and other third party bullion sellers that pick up graded and raw coins in mass quantities through various means give discounts to bulk buyers on items already below market value. Plus discounts given to dealers that grade in mass quantities get discounts and when you add these up. The little guy gets screwed over.
