I was there Friday. It was a windy day, cold as crap. Much more crowded than I've ever seen it at that show. High energy and dealers were in a strangely good mood.
Early American Copper, Bust and Seated.
I would expect several reports from this show.... @opportunity...Thanks for your input....Bullion should have been selling well... Cheers, RickO
I made it there late on Friday, due to traffic/construction delays, but I heard the opening hours were very busy.
I stuck around for most of Saturday, and it seemed busy, at times.
Regarding bullion, I can only refer to 90% silver coins. Several dealers were looking to buy, but not much walked-in from the public. I wanted decent rolls of circ. Barber Quarters, and none of dealers had full rolls. I had to visit at least 4 dealers, and pick through their silver bins, just to end-up with one roll.
I also tried to buy generic Morgan S$1, PCGS MS65, but most of the dealers wanted $130.+ each, and wholesale ask is only $102. Only one dealer was willing to haggle any, so I bought 2 really nice ones, at the split between wholesale & retail. I picked the cleanest looking pair, out of about 8 he had to offer. Apologies in advance for my poor phone pics.
Most of what I did at the show, was a couple grand of currency trades, national bank notes.
I genuinely appreciate hearing about the size of the crowd and the level of commercial enthusiasm (or lack thereof). Show reports that leave these out are just MEH.
