Altered Cards and a Concerned Hobbyist - an Update?

As we've now seen 5 months pass since this topic was front and center, with issues continuing to crop up and a persistent and disconcerting number of cards exhibiting evidence of alteration showing up in new PSA slabs, I thought I'd refer back to AFL's comment and ask what, if anything has been done in this time to rid or put a damper on the fraudulent activity?

"Instead of making demands when no one posting (myself included) knows the full details of the situation, please allow details to be uncovered and plans for moving forward to be made. I have said a few times now that work is being done behind the scenes. Allow that process to occur. Once everything is in place and moving forward, if there are still issues, then they should be raised at that point."

I edited the final sentence of the first paragraph as I found it to not contribute to the question and thought it to be potentially inflammatory.

Truthfully, the situation hasn't much changed in terms of public info. Everyone knows that the FBI is involved. They don't comment on active cases. I am sure that things are continuing to be uncovered, but I don't know what they are. PSA has rolled out the Secure Scan service (for free) at some of the higher submission levels and is working towards implementation at all levels. Unfortunately the info that some folks desire is just not available yet.

I am going to close this thread now in an effort to nip potential problems in the bud.

Todd Tobias - Grateful Collector - I focus on autographed American Football League sets, Fleer & Topps, 1960-1969, and lacrosse cards.
