Question for our PSA board member

I have a sub at PSA right now that is the grading step and I can review the items. 4 cards are listed as no Grade...all are 2004 Ultimate Collection Buyback. One of which PSA has graded in the past. Does PSA not grade these cards anymore? Do I need to send in the supplemental Authenticity Card with them? How and who would be best to contact via phone to discuss these 4 cards before they just send them back to me?

While this step is great in that we can catch some labelling errors the continued lack of information from PSA as to why they decide to not grade a card is still an issue. I won't even get into issues with the Set Registry dropping items from sets every time they have an upgrade in software. But all these issues combined with the endless turn around times makes one a less interested PSA customer. But then again they have more customers with the Magic cards so they probably aren't worried about losing a few customers.

not sure if these cards you submitted specifically apply to this situation, but there are a bunch of cards in the past that PSA once graded, but no longer does. so you will see some in the pop report, but they were graded prior to the decision to no longer grade them. as AFL said, reach out to PSA's customer service and they may be able to clue you in as to why they didn't grade,

I'm afraid I can't help today. It's Sunday NFL day, and I'm so smashed I can't even make it out of the kitchen back to the TV without help. Merry Christmas.

    • It makes me much less interested in helping out when you use your entire second paragraph to tell me how much you dislike our service and how we don't care about you anyway because of Magic card submissions. The passive-aggressive stuff doesn't work.

Your response is an example of codependency where I think the OP was venting and just needed a shoulder to lean on.

Don't dislike him less because he needed to vent when you could comfort, console, and convert that person to a life-long ally.

    But that's just me.

Having worked in customer service for many years, this is not what I would use as a training tool for new employees:

@flcardtrader and @SidePocket... You guys make valid points. I can say in all honesty that it gets frustrating when people think that PSA doesn't care about customers as long as submissions keep rolling in. We do care about collectors of all types. It's just not possible to please everyone at once. Still, I could have done a better job with my response.

@jradke4... I am sorry. If you want to PM me some more details about the card(s) in question, I will look into it.

You guys read OP's public approach & condescending tone, correct?

PM would probably have been better tact.

    This.

  • To the OP, you mentioned buyback cards....I believe you must submit the authenticity supplemental cards . They were autographed cards right?

well i finally had time to call last week. the issue is that the spec department couldn't find any checklists. so i sent them the link to the beckett checklist for the set. i also sent them photos of the 4 UD authenticity cards that have the stickers with the numbers that match the stickers on the back of the cards. what i find interesting is that PSA has graded some of these cards already including one that i have submitted that is a no spec card now. we will see what happens. hopefully they will be able to make some determination from the items i have provided them.

I had a similar issue: 4 cards of same set. 2 show gradable, 2 showed "no card #". I called and they said it was an error on the data entry side and all 4 would be graded.

    Thanks,

  • I also have a question,I sent a check and they cashed it well over a month ago. Will it still be 85 days before I get my cadrs?
So they get to use my money and I still have to wait.Is that fair.
I have emailed them 4 times with no response.

They cannot hold a personal check while your cards are being graded.

If you didn't want to pay up front, you can use a credit or debit card on your submission form instead. Your card will not be charged until the cards are graded in that case.
