Are grandpa and grandma aware that you found their coins? After you make sure that they know that you are in possession of the coins, then let them make the decision as to whether or not you should get them graded. It's not for us here to say. Respect your grandpa and grandma. After all.....granny most likely did change your diaper. Probably not too long ago. And grandpa did bounce you on his knee. Right? Did you untie his shoelaces? I'll bet you did! Make granny and grampy a part of the grading decision. A happy granny means a warm bottle and a hug at sleepy time! And a happy grampy means a trip to the park. Think about the swing set!!! And that's worth more than all the coin grading ever. Ni-night!
If Gramps and Grams are gone then getting it graded to protect it and have as a remembrance would be great. Not costly to do. Coin itself is not worth a lot and normally a flat out no would be my answer....but it's a family piece.

The coin you picture is NOT worth grading. Forget about spending money on grading until you have bought a copy of The Guide Book of US Coins (the Red Book) and studied it carefully. Then go through this site and learn more about grading. Only then should you consider sending anything in for grading.
Totally agree with 291fifth, you must get a copy of the Red Book to start out. This book is not expensive. It is likely that the grading fee and postage is worth ten times or more than the coin shown here. Not an economic proposition.
The grade is VG details. Date is clear, LIBERTY almost separated from rim, partial horn.
It would not receive a numeric grade because of the deep scratch at OF on the reverse.
No worth grading due to deep scratch.....You can slab it yourself to protect it and put your own label in the slab - slabs are available on line or your local coin shop. Cheers, RickO

Welcome to the CU forums.
He found those in the oven.
You should grade it

A classic coin from grandma and grandpa's time!

grade it? yes.
Slab it? no
BHNC #203
Save your money. It's probably a good. G-6 with a outside shot at a VG-8.
The fees for independent grading would far outweigh the value of this Buffalo.
I generally won't submit anything with a value under 200.00.
With that gouge?
True, it may even get slabbed as "Genuine" but "Damaged".
You have a 1923 Buffalo pictured, any chance you have a 1921s Buffalo? Now, that may be worth grading? Big money in not so high of grade.
