Cleaned. I wouldn't have assumed real. Might be but I wouldn't have wanted to get stuck. Many others to choose from.

ex-jewelry perhaps? Do I see evidence of something on the reverse at 9 and 3?

EF details. Was that one in the 200 year old safe?

The former owner had the coin in a Dansco album in the 70s. Then I bought the album.

Harshly cleaned with XF details. Probably ex-jewelry.

Details of an XF 40, but the surface quality is difficult to see... could be XF Details.

this has more wear than my rectal thermometer - this is VF30 DETAILS at best.

Cleaned and those obverse scratches put me off.... not one I would consider. Cheers, RickO

    Damaged.

But, take the coin out of the holder pre-pictures.
The holder keeps it from being a clear photo

    Cleaned no doubt, possibly fake.

The dentils at two o'clock on the obverse concern me. Not enough to be certain, but I'd stay away even at a bargain details price.

Tough issue for the type collector looking to do a representative gold page... I agree with others though. This one has been cleaned. ..XF details.

I think the original owner had the best idea... put it in an album. It might be worth getting it authenticated to at least have that peace of mind. ..

That's caused by the plastic window in the 2"X2" holder.
