I would like to, but am reluctant to sell something I do not have.

I'm in for if you'll go with the $500. I'm pretty sure other offers to match or beat this price will become abundant very soon.

I may not know what I'm doing most of the time, but I'm Damn good at it. 😇 😈

Prices are currently all over the place. A local wholesaler is taking orders to SELL at $325. Meanwhile I've been between $350 and $500 to buy and someone else on BST is at $575 (although I don't know the terms he's offering).

If wholesale prices support it next week, I'll go to $500. For now, I'm only guaranteeing $350 to anyone new.

    Thanks!

Why don't you buy from that local wholesaler ?

I might if he has enough at that price. But he can't guarantee he gets any. The uncertainty in all of this is how the distribution will end up going. He can't guarantee delivery at $325. If I'm bidding $350-$500, I SHOULD be able to get more coins than he can.

I think this is a $500 coin which is why I locked in some people at $500 and then dropped to $350 for new people because I had enough promises at $500 (assuming those people come through). Anyone offering more than one coin at any price can't guarantee supply. Even the onesy's could get locked out next Thursday. If these coins are over $500 retail, how many do you think the distributor is going to be able to buy at $300?

A forum member asked whether it is better to lock in or wait. I'll tell you what I think...IT DEPENDS.

It works both ways. Sometimes the price drops quickly as distribution levels out, sometimes it takes time to develop. Look at the Block Island 70s last year. They spiked early and tailed off.

Other times, the 1995-W eagle, took time to be appreciated, although that is relatively rare.

So, you can regret selling early or regret selling late. LOL. Hard to know.

I would guarantee you can always get more than issue price. But 2 months from now, this could be less than $500, maybe much less. Then you might feel you sold too late. On the other hand, if it's $1000 2 months from now, you'd feel you sold too early.

Obviously, I think this issue has legs or I wouldn't be out early on it. For the 2018 Palladium eagle, I locked in the sale of my units before release. In fact, I only bought them because I had locked them in. Why? I do not believe in the legs on that issue, as much as I like the coin.

No one has a crystal ball. We take our best guess and live with the results.

If you want a guaranteed profit, you lock in early. If you are more of a gambler, you can wait and see what develops. This issue, more than most recent issues, has about 0% chance of going under the issue price.
