English Cathedral - galvano medals??????

Got this 2 or 3 weeks ago. 2 medals by J.Davis and another by Halliday. Some kind of "galvano" medal or seems to be cast. Anyone there with information about these medals or how are they made, used, or their purposed? Thanks in advance.

    I am not familiar with these medals... however, they do look cast...though I do not recall seeing other cast pieces with quite that degree of pimpling....Cheers, RickO

    The poor quality of the castings makes me suspect that someone was just experimenting with casting.
