1 or 2 ???

topstuftopstuf Posts: 14,803 ✭✭✭✭✭

A recent poll asked which coin you'd keep forever. I posted #2
Then I got to thinking if that really is the one.
In all likelihood, I'll keep both til I'm extinct, but this is really a tossup.
Both are about same price.
Whatcha think? 1 or 2 ? :)

1

2

1 or 2 ???

This is a private poll: no-one will see what you voted for.

Tough to beat old proof gold in my book. Awesome!

I agree about both heck I have hard time parting with circulated coins I find in change. 😂

    Best place to buy !

I'm a sucker for any1794-1836 silver and gold, so the choice was easy. But the Proof is a great looking coin

The 1802 $2.50 for me. Has a lot of character. PR63 tends not to be a terribly attractive proof grade, although the pictures of yours look pretty nice.

Number 2 because #1 is one of the ugliest coins I could imagine. Remember, you asked. o:)

I had to edit this as #2 at the beginning made everything big.

How can you possibly be sad? Either coin is a worthy addition to any collection. The ONLY opinion that matters with coins such as these is yours. Thanks for posting them! :)

Put me in the "like 'em both but I love old gold" camp. Also, not to pick nits, but the proof is only a 63. Ha!

I know. But why spend 64 money for a bezel coin? :p

Coin #2 is shiny. A lot of collectors are attracted to shiny coins. It is pretty, but....I like coin #1- the color is very attractive, looks more like seasoned gold to me!

I am in the minority. I have never cared for this design, though I know it is highly liked by most US collectors. I'd rather have the proof gold.
