What kind of doubling is this?

I found a bunch of half dollars in my last box that show some form of doubling on them. Almost all of them are from the early '70s and almost all the doubling is on the reverse. It is also almost exclusively confined to the lettering around the rim but there were a couple of coins that showed similar doubling around one edge of Kennedy's face and even his ear.
I did my best to photograph the doubling on one of the coins with the highest level of doubling but im only working with my cell phone and a jewelers loop. This is a 1980D.
Can you give me your honest opinion?

Looks like fairly strong machine doubling to me.
Good examples of machine doubling....quite common and no numismatic premium. Cheers, RickO
Yep. Die Chatter Clatter.

Time would really be best spent making a list of known varieties by date and mintmark and looking closely at those specific coins for the known variety. Looking at every single coin in great detail is a futile endeavor.

Looks like a real nice example of machine doubling.
Machine Doubling yes, BUT I find it on the COOL scale.
