Do you have an insurance policy for your collection?
Anonymous poll. Answers can be private messaged to me directly. I need advice on who can insure my collection, since I have to move and am unsure of storage short/long term.

I have been using Hugh Wood, Inc for years.

Why would I insure a bunch of tarnished widgets?

So I voted no, but I am also going to be looking to get some insurance here soon since the value of my collection has been creeping upwards. I plan on contacting Hugh Wood.

Insurance is an option under certain circumstances, and should be considered. However, there are other options, SDB, or layered home security are examples. Cheers, RickO

SDB for a vast majority of it, a Glock for the rest.
I have so much insurance on health, life, cars, home, etc that I'm going to list my insurance company as a dependent on my IRS next year. Probably should consider getting the coin accumulation insured as well.

Does anyone have ballpark figures on the cost of Hugh Wood? Years ago, someone told me the cost was about 2% of the collection value. Is this true?
Does anyone have any idea about the cost of their shipping insurance?
I have the dealer application form. It is pretty involved and I wondered if anyone had any info on cost as a % of your collection value. I don't need/want to know what your stuff is worth.
SDB's are not insured. A Glock is also not insurance. Both of those are security measures not insurance.
State Farm offered me a $50,000 policy on coins for $600 a year. I thought that was steep, but I have not shopped around.
Appear poor. Have a German Shepherd.

actually, that seems kind of cheap, depending on what was in the coverage.
