Congratulations... nice group of tokens. Cheers, RickO
Cool tokens for sure👌🏻😎
Very interesting! Is the first one struck in copper?
Very Nice!
Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I guess I posted this without much info on these,
so I included a page I found online at TAMS for reference.
@coinjp the first one is brass that has toned really nicely.
.
The hardest one I found to locate was the silvered brass.

Thanks. It took around 7-8 years. When I first was looking prices were astronomical. Then as most do they dropped in price. I was able to get most within a few years. Now I’m trying to upgrade them and prices are rising, making it difficult to purchase again

Very cool. You've found some wonderful examples! I collect them as well oddly as part of my pre-1840 pattern set. They interestingly are listed in the Judd pattern book in the section C. Non-mint patterns. Of course, they're not patterns at all. Its also felt that Judd-27 and Judd-27a might actually not exist and if fact be altered kettle tokens ( uspatterns.com website). So for the 1803 pieces, what exactly do you consider a complete set? Quarter eagle and half eagle in brass and copper?
.
.
All true as you stated above and more and more information is just surfacing as not all that much was known about Kettle.
It appears that he has done many other tokens such as the C. Wolfe, Clark & Spies Early Tokens and more. I have spent money purchasing L. B. Fauver books and tokens from a seller that purchased a ton of his tokens.
.
.
As far as collecting these for a set I thought it would be relatively simple, or more difficult to find higher grade examples.
The $2.5 Quarter Eagle in Brass and some are gold gilt. A very rare one is a quarter eagle silvered. PCGS has one graded
and they refer to it a a "dime".....not sure why but I can guess. Then you have the $5 Half Eagle in brass and gilt.
So, total of 5 would be. set. Or at least I thought so.
.
I have sent my silvered Quarter Eagle and still waiting to her back from NGC
.
Looking through Fauver's books it appears there are quite a few varieties. One of them being one without the KETTLE
on the obverse. I too thought it was just filled off but there are varieties that do not have the KETTLE signature and he gives
the pick up points as to how many stars and a weak struck reverse.
.
So it seams that many that are around or have been graded in fact are much rarer pieces. I need to find out somewhere the
possibility of scanning these varieties and posting them here. It is in his book EXONUMIA SYMBOLISM & CLASSIFICATION - L.B. FAUVER - 350 PGS But it appears the prices have gone way up!
.
.
Edited to add......can you post your Kettle tokens here. I would just love to see them
