3 legged nickel ? My eyes aren't so good anymore

Found this coin in a local auction that is closing in a few days. Comes from an estate sale.

Is it the real deal or did the collector incorrectly identify it ?

That's not even a "D" mintmark coin, is it?

I'm surprised that no one has suggested buying a quality magnifier. As you get older it becomes more and more important. There are several past threads here discussing the best magnifier or loupe to get for examining coins.

Yes, that's just the common one. Not even the Denver mint (as a member pointed out.)
