Why are people even bidding on this coin??

It says neon toned, but I don't really see any color or anything that would attract a premium.
Can anyone elaborate as to why there is bidding on this?

I don't care for the piece, but to last in this hobby, you have to build up a fair tolerance for some considerable amount of incomprehensible behavior by others. Or you should stay in your private sanctuary and only venture out very occasionally. More than half the coin stuff that I see on eBay gets a big "Meh" and I move on. More than half the stuff I see at coin shows gets a big "Meh" and I move on. Such is life.
I'm sure there are crappier pictures out there, but the ones in that listing are right up there with them.
I don't like it.
Ugly.
They like something about that coin. Or is the obvious answer too obvious?
The current bid on this coin is only $60.00 What is the point of wasting our time on a "nothing" coin like this.
OINK
The OP is obsessed with every eBay auction that he doesn't understand. It is much easier to simply acknowledge that there is no need to understand. I don't know why anyone would spend a giant premium to own a common Lincoln Cent with an S under the 1909 and a VDB on the back, but they do. The market is king. Why do people spend good money slabbing modern clad coins hoping to get a 67 into a 68 holder, but they do. The market is king. Accept its judgment and move on. IMHO.

Interesting. I never really noticed. That seems like a lot of trouble to go to. How much does that pay?
Individual tastes vary....and individual reasons for purchases vary.....To each his own....I have seen coins I would never buy go for amazing sums....Well, it was not my money, so no problem...I hope the buyer(s) are happy. Cheers, RickO
Well, it's a natural look for Peace dollars.........
Pigs and opossums have a natural look too.
