I set up at this show with 2 display cases. I went with a roster of 160 slabbed coins (1st team), about 100 graded notes, and some raw collector coins in album pages displayed in one of the cases. Table fee $210.

Purchases: A really PQ NGC MS65 1925 Lexington below bid from wholesaler setup on left of me and 10 PCGS mod MS / PR 69 mod commem Dollars from walk up customer.

Sales Highlights: Niue Star Wars 1oz silver bullion coins, some NGC $5 PF 69 AGEs to a father and son, Slabbed classic Commems and Dollars to various customers, a 1911 PCGS 64 Lib 5c, graded currency US and World, and some raw collector coins. I also did some wholesale (smash mouth minimal profit flip move it quickly) with other dealers.

Both days were busy with Saturday being the most brisk. If you have big money to burn take a table at a show and get into the fray.

Food: Free coffee and doughnuts for dealers both days plus (for dealers) free pizza Friday and the $5 whataburger deal Sat w burger, chips, and canned drink.

Friday nite after the show a bottle of beer and playing GTAO (Grand Theft Auto Online) settled me down.

Overall I had a good time and some great food. I am holding steady at current inventory level no burning desire for increased investment.

The two PF 69 $5 AGE were a lucky retail sale (discounted below MV for show) to a father and son that walked up. I brought about 20 other gold coins to the show but these are for retail. Nobody was asking prices on these. I am not a bullion trader.

A major bullion dealer and wholesaler were there both doing a very brisk business.

US coins was there. When Kenny dropped by I asked him if he had any CAC. He said yes. I planned to go see him (look at them) but the show was really busy. I did some business with them when his assistant came by a couple of times. They have a huge shop in Katy off I Ten.

I am not much of a wholesaler (sometimes flip material to other dealers at shows say at just $5 over cost for cash flow) I do online and shows to do retail and pick off deals which have flip / retail potential. Just smash mouth ball. Because the bids are not advancing materially on numismatic coins this is a real tough market. Gold and silver only thing showing any real increase over past year.

If you have stacks of banknotes which you may show a customer watch them 100 pct of time especially somebody you don’t know if they going thru it do not take your eyes away or be distracted. If you notice the guy putting some aside (especially more expensive) that’s a red flag. Find out right away if he intends to buy if not pick them up and the stack and put it back into the case closing it - get rid of him. Sometimes they come to steal...All it takes is you looking away then they can filch them into a book or folder and be gone.

I love a good coin show. When I can't be at one, I really appreciate hearing about the show from someone else's perspective. Thank you for taking the time to share.
