1982 D RPM PENNY?

Hi all! I'm so excited! I always read and saw online pics of these repunched mint marks but I never actually had one in my hand. I just wanted to share my excitement and my pictures.

Sorry but it looks like zinc corrosion not an error.
1982 was the first year of the copper plated zinc cents and the mint was still practicing on getting the production process right. The copper plating had a tendency to split, and the edge of the mm was one of those areas were It frequently occurred. Once the copper was breached, the exposed zinc was open to corrosion (like rust on a car fender).

Looks like your has not “popped” yet.
Sorry not a RPM for this reason.
Thanks everyone, bubble popped.😞
You're welcome...and welcome (to our group here).
The important thing is that you are open to learning new things and accepting of advice.
Trust me, most of us have been deflated more times than we've been inflated.
@TeaTime....Welcome aboard..... I agree with the above consensus....That being said, you spotted an anomaly and posted it with pictures, which allowed the members to help you....Keep looking, there are interesting coins out there to be found. Cheers, RickO
