made this for wife a few years ago took about 1 year to find them all.
outside coins wife and I, next coin on left Daughter, then next 4 the Grandbabies
I bought several Mughal India coins recently and spent some time attempting to read the Arabic text on them with the help of Richard Plant's book Arabic Coins and How to Read Them.
Mughal India Shah Jahan Rupee 1038 Agra
Silver, 22 mm, 10:47 gm, KM 222.1, Struck at Agra (Dar-i-Khilafa)
Obverse: Four horizontal lines of text
Line 1: Badshah Ghazi (Emperor and fighter for Islam)
Line 2: Muhammad Shah Jahan (King of the World)
Line 3: Shahab ud-Din (Star of the Faith)
Line 4: Sahib-i-Qiran-i-Sani Ahad (Second Lord of the Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, First year of reign)
The Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn is an Astrological event and supposedly one born during the conjunction was destined for greatness.
The "second lord" is due to the belief that Shah Jahan's ancestor Timur was also born during a conjunction.
Reverse: Three horizontal lines of text
Line 1: "There is no god but God"
Line 2: "Muhammad is his messenger"
Line 3: Sanat Dar-i-Khilafa Agra (Struck at seat of capital Agra)
Shah Jahan went on a building spree and his most famous building, the Taj Mahal, is located in Agra (near Delhi).
The round marks on the coins are test marks for silver.

Not a coin, but an interesting metal. It's about 3 inches in diameter and 3/8's of an inch thick.
