This is exonumia from Disneyland. This one I got from one of the gift shops in the 90's as a kid, the only thing in the shop I wanted so much that when my mom said no it cost too much for such a small item, I actually put back my mountain of candy and said I would go without lunch just to get it. I did have lunch and was still aloud one piece of candy, but I got my coin. It is still my favorite exonumia piece. I have had it in protective plastic since I got it that day. It looks as if the planchet was brush polished and then struck.
These are designed after a real moth found in parts of Europe and Asia that actually has a skull shaped pattern on its back. Two more from my skull coin collection.
Just got this one recently, been looking for one for awhile. Not really sure I like the "tape mark" toned spot, but i do love the history of this coin and toned coins. This came from a very pivotal time in history during the worst part of inflation that lead to mass destruction and armed conflict between the world major powers. It is also one of the first coins to appropiately depict death and the coming conflicts of morality.
