Ever been here?

The sign on the building reads Guns / Coins so this catch's my attention. I pull into the parking area and as I'm walking up to the entrance, I notice that there aren't too many cars in the lot so maybe this is gonna be a waste of time. Once inside the first thing I see is a glass case filled with old Colt and Smith & Wesson revolvers. On the walls are racks of Winchester Commemorative rifles and as I"m walking along admiring everything, the showcases suddenly have coins instead of revolvers. Not just run of the mill coins but old gold and toned silver, there's even a couple of cases just for currency.
About that time an old woman comes out of the back room and asks if I'm looking for anything in particular, I tell her that I'm interested in U.S./ Philippine Pesos but I don't see any in the showcases. She goes into the back room again and returns with a box full of Peso's, hands it to me and says that I'll have to go through them because they were just purchased in an estate buyout and they haven't had time to sort everything yet. She walks around the sleeping dog on the floor and says let me know if you see anything you like, I'll let those go for the current silver price.

And then the alarm goes off and I wake up -

:D Wow...had me right up until you woke up.....Would love to find such a shop. Though I frequently see coins at gun shows.....The gun show this weekend only had political tokens though....Cheers, RickO

i've hand many dreams surrounding coins. secret stashes in the oddest locations. one that comes to mind was under one of those big fountains you see out in front of Manors. it had a secret latch or something.

another was in a series of underground tunnels/catacombs.

many others. sometimes the stuff i see doesn't even exist. the mind made up its own coinage. :/

i liked your dream because it is very feasable as members over the years have posted something similar to your dream except it really came to fruition!

On occasion, I'll have a dream that includes one TPGS and a few of the people I worked with. Nothing bad but the parts I can remember are amusing. An unusual thing about dreams is they are like real life - until you wake up.

@1630Boston... :) There it is... a dream to reality. What a great shop... I was in Idaho Falls years ago (to have a rifle customized)... Did not know it was there...Thanks for the picture. Cheers, RickO

  • Save a 1906-s for me, if you would please.... :)

Very interesting! I once dreamt that I was in a 200 year old pottery shop and the door to the safe was open and a giant backhoe was about to tear down the place and I just happened to have a large duffel bag with me....

Would that be to see Shawn at Defensive Edge?

@Ebeneezer....I do not recall his name, was written about with great approval by Jeff Cooper and he did field customization's on my Ruger 45-70....He did great work...but this was about 22 years ago. Cheers, RickO
