    Interesting.

Kind of looks like a thick layer of glue (or something) was applied and was painted.

Look at it from the edge does it appear to project outward from the reverse?

    Post an edge pic please.

  • No, it's not protruding from the reverse. And it's not glue, I will post an edge pic shortly!

    It's damage.
You can see where IGWT was pressed into the reverse, it appears to have been done with a 1963. The rest, who knows, but it's all damage.

If you think it is an error pls explain to us how it occurred. (That's how errors work).

I have a couple empty 1 gal paint cans. The bottom of them have dried up paint. Looks very similar to the reverse of the cent.

The Mint doesn’t paint coins so it’s PMD and if it’s not paint it’s still PMD, post mint damage.

    My 0.0005 cent opinion.

It's damaged, not a mint error. High heat may have been involved

@SeaBas....Welcome aboard.... You have a damaged cent - usually termed PMD or Post Mint Damage....no numismatic value. Good luck in your coin hunt... Cheers, RickO
