What is the slab worth alone. I cracked out one last week. Next time, I'll recommend the person keep it in its original holder rather than cross it.
That probably an MS 66 now with grade inflation - just joking! Nice coin, Nice holder.
RARE slab!!
Beautiful coin that looks under-graded!!
Probably got a 62 for the hit in the right facing field. Still very nice and still looks 63 to me.
What a GREAT combination!!
Congrats and your PATIENCE has served you well!!
May I ask where you found it???

What is the slab worth?
Wow! Super find! @coinkid855
2.1s have stabilized at right around $150 for the slab. Obviously, the intrinsic value of this coin dwarfs the slab value . . . . which is why they are a bit more impressive an a 44-S Merc. The uniqueness of the denomination is cool . . . very cool . . . but doesn't inflate the slab value much more as there really are not any 'Type' collectors of the 2.1s as there are the Doilies.
I have bought mainly Mercs and Morgies in 2.1s. The Mercs go for around $190-200 . . . . . .the Morgies (64s) go for $210-$230. If you get more than that when you sell . . . kudos to you.

@Flackthat ....Welcome Aboard.....Nice score...not a slab collector, but some are very passionate about this area.... Very nice gold coin though. Cheers, RickO
Very nice coin/slab combo! A keeper for sure!
That is one nice coin!
Nice to see more of these abound, even if it is in small numbers.
Congrats for a fine find @Flackthat and welcome to CU
Great coin and holder!

Nice find. And a good holder to boot.
Nicer than my doily MS63 Saint...
Congrats !!!
Yes, and it didn't belong to me. I kept the label and threw out the case %&&**((%$##@!
Found it! 1928 $20 MS-64 #122270-012.
nice score with the green bean!
An MS64 Saint in a 2.1, cracked out? Ouch!
Most of my 2.1s have gold CAC stickers. This must have upgraded.
What grade did you cross it at?
Damn @Insider2 ...your wise old age has finally gotten the best of you...keep your head up and what’s done is already done. In a positive light, you single handedly upped the collector-value of the OP’s coin
Sorry, but I don’t think a sticker adds anything to the value or salability of that coin of that grade in that holder.

Quite true however the op has not said if it received a green or gold yet
Edited to add: Congrats on the score, I hope to add another 2.1 to my holder collection someday.

If it was awarded a gold sticker with that generation of holder....you scored big time!!

I responded to a post that said “ nice score with the green bean”. However, even a gold sticker/“bean” probably wouldn’t have much impact on a 62 coin in that holder. I say that because of the lack of a spread between a 62 and a 63, as well as the added built in value, due to the holder, itself.

You already have the ability to find out. Simply type the cert number from the slab in on the CAC website where it says "Look Up Your Coins" and it will tell you if the slab has a gold, green or no sticker. In this case, CAC confirms the coin has a green sticker.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I know Mark just pointing out that we don't know what color the bean is yet, and while the green would not add much if any a gold bean could, in the right circumstance. It seems that sometimes bidders/buyers see the gold bean as a two point upgrade even if its not.

As long as folks collect the scarce "older" types of slabs, and added stickers, the coin inside becomes less important.
Anyone have an older slab with one of the first uses of a CAC sticker? > @Kove said:
@Flackthat asked: "What grade did you cross it at?"
65
I agree. Peel that sucker off.
By the way, does anyone else think the silly cartoonish stick figure they put on the green sticker looks good? I think it seriously makes them look like not as legit as a service as they are.
Agree, but the whole site looks like it's from the 1990's. What I really hate is the MAX VOLUME sound it plays when you look up a cert. Better remember to turn down the volume if you are going to look up some coins.
Collector, occasional seller
Cartoonish... LOL !!!
Now you have an old slab with a new green bean....Green and gold go good together though Cheers, RickO
Nice. Love the older holders.

How do you think so much gold paint came off the logo since it hasn't been touched ? Is there gold paint dust inside the holder ?
