I also have visualized old clothes lines based on old spikes, hooks or pulleys nailed to trees. I have dug coins, tombac buttons and keys underfoot. Peace Roy

Best thing I ever found under a clothesline was a Seated Half in Iowa City, Iowa. Love hunting under them
Definitely an area to check....and old gardens if they can be determined... people digging and working in them often dropped things...On old properties, check the back yard for significant land marks (boulder, large tree, stone wall) something significant visible from the bedroom window or kitchen.... that is a likely area to check for a buried cache.
