Hello -- What variety is this coin? I can't identify the variety by using the W. C. Noyes book.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

S-54, not rare
Thank you for the response. Any significance that the coin has a lettered edge?
Those early dated LC cents all had, or should have, lettered edges. ONE HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR.
Rare or not, I love anything from the 1700's.

Looks to be a S-54.
I love these eac guys, man it take's me 20 min or more to try and decipher the variety of a coin that is in the shape, these guys just take a few seconds and bam they know.
I would be happy to just have that cent....well, maybe after a while I would want to know more... but wow... a coin from 1794...that alone would make me happy. Cheers, RickO
To clarify, some of the 1793 Wreath cents, all of the 1794 cents, and the thick planchet 1795 Lettered Edge cents have edge lettering.
The planchets were made thinner and the edge lettering discontinued, midway through 1795.
Yeah, I owned one of the 1795 examples with the lettered edge in AU-55 until kids started graduating college and it freed up fundage.
Wow, that was a big coin, SaorAlba!
These are under rated, and I’m fortunate to have a couple in VG and Fine.
