Is this an 1988-d Wide AM cent?
I was going through a roll of 88-d cents and have 5 that are obviously different but after hours of looking (and researching) I still don't know if these are a wide AM examples. Whatcha think?

I think the 88-d wide is typically wider than this. At least that is what the coin facts picture portrays?
@jdimmick I read that there is a almost wide but then you have to look at the FG initials and when you do that these appear to be the close version.
Judging from the picture, I would say it is not the wide AM....Cheers, RickO

Look at the difference between the RDV-005 die (common on 1988-D) and RDV-006 (rare on 1988-D).
It's easiest to see in the serifs on G (in the FG designer initials).
Check this for yourself.
I believe all 1988-D's are wide AM coins: however, only one is the "good" one (#006) - FS#901. There is an image of the date, mint mark placement, and designers initials of the "good" one on Variety Vista. It is a more detailed treatment than the links above that I tried to use
last week.
Yep, unfortunately not the wide AM....oh well.
thanks all,

Well hes got a great question. With my respect of the other members answers, whats off in this picture?

Im staying out of the close or near soga, or theory, because as u can see the FG is not an exact science.
I have many such as to the FG theory, including the 92 version.
No , No , im not getting caught up in this file of errors until im secure in my understanding.
The off is or should be as per the FG states its close. Dont matter if its a D or not its off.
Like I said "Examples do not matter if its a D or not". FG claims CLOSE, AM, oh just found this in a roll.
