I got this pair of sterling silver baby toothing rattles. I paid spot for them as they were sold to me as silver bangles in a pawn shop. I wanted to see if anyone here knows anything about telling the difference between real and fake Tiffany.
What I can find about these are they are Baby toothing rattles. (They actually do rattle). They have a design that is called man in the moon. They both are real silver IDK if real Tiffany. They both have different marks. The one on the right says TIFFANY & CO. STERLING 925. The other one on the left says TIFFANY & Co 925. If you have any information or thoughts please comment below.

Me thinks that it is a reference to a James Bond movie, “Diamonds are Forever,” and an actress within the movie.

They look authentic (based on the pictures)... It could be a variation of the Tiffany stamp....Unique items, never saw a sterling teething ring before....Talk about being born with a silver spoon... :D Cheers, RickO

I have seen both marks on eBay. I just want to make sure that they are real before I put them on eBay because I have gotten fake Tiffany before. The shop I purchased these at thought they were bangles....that rattled. On one on the rings there is lots of scratches on the moon to show the baby biting at the silver there. The other one seems brand new. A funny thing is that when I weighed it, the used one weighed 1 gram less than the new one.....I think the baby ate a gram of sterling silver!

That is a big teething loss, but based on the pictures, it seems (to me) that maybe there is less rattle material in that one....Just a guess...Cheers, RickO

Rattles and teething rings are generally two different items (but nowadays there are combos.)

Silver adornments (with baby’s name, DOB, etc.) is normally attached to the actual teething ring and given as a gift. The baby should not be gnawing on any metals.

The OPs pic is more inline with a rattle. Generally, not given to the baby to actually rattle but for the parents to rattle to the baby. Giving a baby a hunk of metal to rattle is prone to inducing a bit of bruising on the baby as s/he hits him/herself with it and baby’s have a tendency of hand (or whatever is the hand) goes to mouth. Same reason as above gnawing on metals is not a good thing.

    IMO and as a grandparent

IMO, more than likely, grandparents giving gifts to the grandkids. :)

Do you guys think it’s safe to put these up on eBay with out them kicking them off as fake?

If you don’t mention it it then becomes moot, if you list as “ has Tiffany & Co sterling mark on “ item and that’s it you ok, smh the things you learn watching coin shows on cable...

They look OK to me. I would list them.
Tiffany in NY used to sell a lot of "trinkets" to impulse buyers who happened to wander into the store.
The name had allure and people often walked out of the store with something they never knew they wanted or needed before they walked in.
That allure extends somewhat to ebay, even today. List them there and they will likely sell.

I see both marks I have are on eBay and compared them. They do seem authentic.

I’ll post the link here after I list if anyone’s interested
