1837 Abraham Riker, New York, HT-306 / Low-154, Rarity-3, Hard Times Token
Provenance: Virgil M. Brand, James E. Dice & M. Lamar Hicks, Stephen L. Tanenbaum.
The PCGS slab was severely mutilated in auction lot viewing and needed to be heavily polished. I spent enough time on the back, but needed to work on the front a bit more. There's some white squiggles on the obverse photo which are deep acrylic scratches. I'll be cracking it out soon anyway to conserve the verdigris spot and will re-shoot it raw. My photo still reflects what the token actually looks like in hand as the True-View is too dark and overly orange.

I'm thrilled that PCGS is finally slabbing these However, didn't think it was going to go into a larger
holder as I really don't like them for my collections. This one I can easily make an exception.

This is a French token/medal. I think it’s from the same era as the counters and Spiel marke.
I think this is one of the nicest looking design of a train around.
However I don’t know much about it other than it might not be that rare.
