Would you purchase a common date coin for about $800 to $900 or get a better date for about $1500.

A lot depends on your set and the particular coins.... However, as a general guideline, if the price is not a burden, get the better date. Cheers, RickO

your not going to touch a common date MS-63 for 800 now, the spot gold run up put them in the 900 area, if your going to only buy one, I would get a 1913 in MS-63, those have some major eye appeal in that grade, you might find one for 1,000 or 1.100. they are rather hard to find in that date, you just have to spend time looking
