Mint rolled Presidential Dollar Coins?

TunisTunis Posts: 471 ✭✭✭✭

Have inherited a run of these coins that my father purchased directly from the Mint. Is there anything I should be looking for such as errors or low mintages or is it best to just break them up and spend them at cash value? All opinions welcome.

Look for obvious errors, missing edge lettering, etc. Maybe keep a nice example of two of each coin if you are inclined.

Be aware that some later date rolls do bring a premium, for whatever reason.

Maybe put together an album or 2 if you have kids to pass them down to and tell them these were Grandpa's coins.

double edge lettering (Two different strikes of lettering) is another one. Lot of strike throughs on the Washingtons.
