Note =======There are concerns among some American collectors that these ornaments reflect a changing trend in the United States Mint to imitate the Royal Canadian Mint in its design and product choices. If you have any concerns regarding this issue, feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.

On August 13 at 12 noon (ET), the United States Mint will release two ornaments which both incorporate Uncirculated Kennedy half dollars. The first, the 2019 Mighty Minters ornament (19XC), features the Mighty Minters Eli, Layla, Timothy, and Kendra. On the other hand, the 2019 United States Mint ornament (19XD) features a Christmas wreath enveloping an Uncirculated Kennedy half dollar. Neither product has a mintage or product limit, but both have a household order limit of 15. Both ornaments are produced in solid brass and possess an imitation rhodium finish. The ornaments are both priced at $24.95 on the Mint’s website.

The face of the 2019 Mighty Minters ornament includes the reverse of a 2019 Uncirculated Kennedy half dollar which is encircled by the Mighty Minters and the words UNITED STATES MINT and 2019.

The 2019 Mighty Minters ornament includes, on the back of its packaging, information about the coin and the Mighty Minters along with the signature of the Director of the Mint. A separate certificate of authenticity and signature from Mint Director David J. Ryder is included with the 2019 United States Mint ornament.

There are concerns among some American collectors that these ornaments reflect a changing trend in the United States Mint to imitate the Royal Canadian Mint in its design and product choices. If you have any concerns regarding this issue, feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.

On the back is a colorized United States Mint seal along with Made in the U.S.A. and ©2019 U.S. Mint. A silver cord is attached for ease of display.
