I have seen some ugly key dates but this 1804 Cent sure is ugly

Its worn, cut several times and looks like it's edges may have been hammered or altered at some point... But still a key and I'm sure someone wouldn't mind having her in their collection.

That poor baby.
BHNC #203
I had a pretty bad 1799. Still got $1200 out of it.
Yikes! Don't think I would have a reserve on that one!
There's always a market for key dates. Being battered just makes them affordable to regular folks.
Here's my 1804, by the way. About as bad as they get...
Smitten with DBLCs.
That coin is badly damaged (OP).... not one I would consider...but it is key and for many, it will fill the space. Cheers, RickO
It just really IRKS me that people used coins instead of saving them in hermetically sealed containers.
Well, the OP coin at least has all the diagnostics readily apparent and a partial date. If you're looking to do a date set of Draped Bust LC's... the '04 and the '99 are the stoppers. If bidding started low enough, I'd place a bid or three on it...

Another fine example of a Bidiot and his money soon being separated
The coin is a “nice, circulated example - Date is fully visible to the naked eye.”
What’s your problem?
Dang hammered at $500 big ones
Folks on skid row who collect need an examples at their price range.
Geez! Can a 200+ year old guy get a little respect.

I have two 1794 large cents both of which are uglier. If only they could talk.
