Who all viewed the Gerald Forsythe Collection of Liberty Nickels at ANA?

This collection was at the PCGS table at the ANA Show. All I can say is it was breathtaking. Both MS & Proof! They made me drool. I have always loved that series, but could never get them like this.
He does need to upgrade those pesky 66+'s to 67 though.

I saw it on Friday. Very, very cool!
the coins and display are fabulous and the PCGS holders are cool as well. I could see getting the extra large holders for a few coins.
Congrats on putting such a wonderful set together.
Are any pictures available of the display?

Not that I know of, but you can always go look at the Registry. They are all TrueViewed.
@DIMEMAN
Thanks, will take a peek. Also wondered about the extra large holders. Are they new?

I don't care for the large holders. I would have had them put in the regular holders.
Extra large holders? What the heck is that? Gives room for secondary stickers?

Are they like the Regency Holders? Any pictures of them?

No, just big. If I remember correctly 5X6" approx.
They are like the holders used for oversized medals, but for normal coins. It was like looking at a nickel in the center of a kindle. Word was Mr. Forsythe requested them that way.
Here is the 1913. Did not take any pictures of the entire display.
And the 1910.
Scotch is an acquired taste. Not sure these are the same.

He’ll probably buy my finest. Unless him and Hansen go at it. That’d be great for me... ;p
My Type Set & My Complete Proof Nickel Set!
Was not at ANA. The last top drawer set of complete Liberty Nickels I saw was I think at a 2005 Long Beach Show when Dale Friend sold his set and it was on display. All business strikes. Most MS 66s, a few 67s.
Business strike 7s in this series are tough to make. I have been able to get a few nice 6s into 6 + holders in this series. I haven't been looking at these coins for the last three or four years, but the two 7s I saw were imo overgraded; too many minor contact marks. It is also far easier (and cheaper) to get most coins in PF 6 or 7 than getting a business strike in these grades.
Do not like the big holders. They take away attention from the coin.

I did. Nice set.
Saw both Gerry and his uber fantastic display. The collection was mind blowing and is far and away the finest set ever assembled. Love the look of the large size personalized holders. I was told Gerry guided their design.
Sorry to bump up this old thread but is this the same guy that's in racing?

I have no idea, but doubt it.
Yes, that's him. Businessman and auto racing magnate.
He's worth about $600 million.
I'd love to see his all-time finest Walker collection in person....

Thank you. I'd like to see his Buffalos. Actually I'd just like to see his and High Desert (whoever he is) collections. Crazy for me to think that he's from Marshall, IL, only a couple hours from me.

I would love to see his All Time Finest Mercury Dime Set that was retired 5 days ago. I wonder if the set is coming up for auction.

Looks way better than the example I saw at the Phoenix show several years ago

I always thought the following slab was super classy:
Yes, The set on display was in huge holders......which I didn't care for at all.
Gerry is my neighbor. Very down to earth guy. Has a lot of checks lol (insider joke)

The 1910 was my coin. Still the nicest PR Lib Nickel I've seen....the 1913 is a good date too.
That’s a nice development there

If I ever get a chance I’d love to see his buffalo nickel collection in person. I’ve seen some pics but I’m sure it would be dazzling to see them right in front of you.
Is it forsythe out of coin collecting? His walkers and proof $10 gold being sold this week.
Seen in-hand the day he made it. And he's right!
