Very happy with this one, but it didn't come with a true view
So I'll send it in with my next submission next week.

(Circa-1864) "1737" Higley Copper, Edwards Copy, MS66 Red and Brown PCGS. Kenney-4, Musante JAB-10, W-14270, R.5....
The dies for this Higley copper copy (modeled after W-8200) were produced by J.A. Bolen in 1864. Dr. Francis Smith Edwards acquired them in 1865 and manufactured examples in copper, silver, brass, and German silver. Die rust on the reverse confirms that this Premium Gem represents a later striking by Edwards. Luminous copper-orange color glows around deeper reddish-violet centers. The strike is well-impressed, if slightly off-center.

Still driving home, be patient. Actually I wont be home for a few more hours. I'll post the HA images of my two lots tomorrow in its own thread. Monday I'll try and take a set of my own images.
Oh, co-worker is driving by the way.
Nice Higley copper Stef.... What is the significance of the three items on the reverse... It appears to connote the pressure exerted by the King on the colonies... just my interpretation... Cheers, RickO
Close friends of mine in Ohio actually own a portion of the Erie Canal, and the Towpath goes right through their property. (The State has an easement through their property and maintains the asphalt walking path.) So, this will soon be on loan to the local museum.
That would be fantastic gesture on your part cardinal!!

I have to admit I don't know the significance of the three hammers. Maybe someone here can answer that.
I always though since it was a three pence, thus three hammers. But maybe its not that simple

I watched the auction on the Internet yesterday (Saturday). Seemed like a few old $10’s and Type I and II $20 Liberties went fairly cheap, just above melt. While some say prices are rising, in other areas not as much.
He who knows he has enough is rich.
@Cardinal, I love that Erie Canal medal! Do your friends own a section of the Erie Canal (Albany to Buffalo, NY), or of the Ohio and Erie Canal (Cleveland to Portsmouth, OH)? The Erie Canal predates the Ohio and Erie by about a decade.
It’s part of the Cleveland to Portsmouth section. During the summer when hikers and bikers frequent the trail, my friends have refreshments available (for free) and open up their house for those who need to use the facilities!
Well, I guess this would qualify as "Copper". It's a bit out of my normal collecting area but I thought it was pretty cool and it's also the year one of my grandmothers was born (one of the folks who encouraged me to be a collector many decades ago).
