@1630Boston .... Thanks for this interesting video.... I like all things connected to Carson City and the mint there. Cheers, RickO
Interesting video for general public promotion. Although, there are several errors and misconceptions, among these are reasons for periodic closure, and the use of operational photos from other mints and different time frames as if they were taken at Carson.
Might have benefited from some of the local-color stories about drunken employees, embezzlement and defalcation, etc.
nice video, I like
Thanks, Roger ... I had to look that one up.

"Defalcation" - When one takes a vacation in the fall or autumn. Also, falling down during vacation and breaking some body part, or two or more parts.
I planned a visit to the Carson City Mint quite a few years ago. I called ahead and got the museum hours from the person answering the phone at the museum a few days in advance.
I drove from San Francisco to Carson City ( 200 plus miles ) and checked into a hotel. The next morning I was at the museum according to the museum hours given over the phone. I opened the door and walked in to be greeted by " We're Closed" It turns out they were painting the museum. I'm not sure why that information wasnt included when I called for their hours. Luckily they weren't painting the Nevada railway museum down the street so I paid them a visit. That was my one and only attempt to visit the Carson City Mint.
My next vacation will be Wally World....I hear they never close.
"South of the Border" never closes, either.
