    That’s a great variety! I assume that it must have taken you sometime to assemble the set!

    There’s one in particular that has quite a lot of wear on it, something I have a hard time to understand. Why would a medal have so much wear?

    I suspect that you mean the small medal commemorating the Battle of Verdun. I would suppose, considering the impact of that battle on the French psyche, a person would want to hold the battle cry, "On ne passe pas," close to the heart.
    The only other piece with significant wear appears to be the Syracuse Chilled Plow Co. token. Probably some sort of pocket piece.

    These medals were available close at hand, for a photographic sampling. I have many more Mariannes tucked away. One of my early collectible themes.
