Thank you for your kind support gents. Usually I kill every coin I try to clean so I am excited this one really came out ok. There was another coin I saw when I bought this one, namely an 1819 Mexico 8 reales that had semi prooflike fields which also had a haze on it. I might buy that one now!
Glad you got it off and it looks nice, but ezest should not be the starting point. Other chemicals, as noted above, are much safer and won't remove toning(surface) at the same time.
Yes, this.
EZest is an aqueous detergent but it is also acidic.
I would start with acetone or an organic solvent (isopropanol, propyl bromide, hexane, etc.) first. On all metals, it is least likely to do anything unfortunate.
I would go to MS70 or a similar aqueous detergent as a second option, but be careful with copper.
EZest is an aqueous detergent but it is also made acidic. That puts it somewhere between MS70 and silver dip. This can have some really unfortunate affects on toned coins.

Nice result, congrats! Thats a blazer.
Nice job, very well done.
Congrats on getting an MS64 grade on it. It is a sharp looking piece.
