WORCESTER - Police found a pair of Ferraris valued at a total of $625,000 in a city warehouse more than 180 miles and a three-and-a-half hour drive from where they were reported stolen on Long Island, New York.

The cars - a black 2018 Ferrari GTC Lusso with a red interior, and a black 2016 Ferrari Spyder 488S - were reported stolen July 13 from a garage in Oyster Bay, New York, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Central District Court by Officer Christopher Breeds of the Worcester Police Department.

The keys were inside the cars when they were stolen. But also inside the 2018 Lusso was a hidden tracker device that tracked the car to the Harlow Street address, according to court documents.

Police searched the warehouse July 19. Officer Breeds was acquainted with the address.

“I am familiar with this location because of a stolen property report back on March 6, 2019,” he wrote in the search warrant affidavit. In that incident, “fraudulently purchased” appliances were tracked to the warehouse and - after police contacted the individuals involved - the appliances were left outside for detectives to recover, Officer Breeds reported.

This time, police saw five shipping containers at the address, which they described in court documents as a “very large warehouse with several oversized garage doors” that was surrounded by scrap cars. Most of the doors and windows of the building were covered, police reported.

Police sought and received a judge’s permission to search the property, including the warehouse and the shipping containers, according to court documents.

According to an inventory, both cars were recovered.

A call to the business at the address - Central Mass. Solid Surface - went unanswered on Tuesday. The company’s Facebook page indicates it specializes in cabinets and countertops.
