... and they messed up with the alignment ..... Geez, how hard would it be to get it right?

Is that actually a piece of line ?
Is the center layer of copper visible on the coin at that spot or is that discoloration from the line ?

The actual name of the error type is "Retained Rolled in Steel Wire Bristle"
A wire was rolled into a sheet of clad quarter stock and split thru exposing the copper core.
That is an interesting error... when an error plays into the devices (i.e. the Paradisefound flower in hair) it becomes a unique piece....Cheers, RickO
