Im sure the dirty gold folks would like it, but for me its too dirty, The black dirt and grime lowers the eye-appeal to me and most of the customers I sell too. I don't want it processed either, but cleaner looking. Its probably an xf-45 dipped 50 reason for the cac gold sticker

Gold on gold.... Nice old coin....it could stand a dip though...that is not the typical 'crust' seen on old gold.... Cheers, RickO
Definitely looks like a higher grade than VF35. I doubt JA gave it a gold sticker thinking it will be higher if dipped. It is just a higher grade period.
Oh man....That is one gorgeous original $20 Liberty! Thanks for sharing with the team.

That’s a lovely twenty, what a nice circulated example. A great transition from Seated Dollars to $20 Libs
That is FANTASTIC! Great date/mint. Love everything about it.
Very, very nice.
Date/mintmark combo, OGH, gold sticker.....it's al there.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Let’s see some more Gold CAC Gold pieces!
Graded correctly as VF35. The gold sticker will make it much more saleable. Leave it just like it is.
That's sweet!

Agree. Coin is unattractive.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful piece.
Who doesn't love gold on gold? ;-)
Graded by our hosts as AU55, with a gold CAC:
Love the 1853 $1 gold on gold!!! Sweet piece
I have a nice stable of old gold in old holders with gold CAC. The crown jewel of the lot

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Wow @Justacommeman! Nice Sm Eagle gold. Always nice to see that, and with a gold sticker to boot.....
Here's the best I can do. Gold on gold in doily.
Here's one more that is mildly interesting:
I have a couple, but neither come close to that '95 of JaC's.
Very nice 1866-S.
The sticker just means that the folks who sell the stickers will offer more for the coin than others of the same "grade."
Anyone else w/ gold on gold?
I don't have a picture of this one in the slab but it is a gold CAC. One of my favorites ex James Stack.
That was an excellent day at cac!
Wow! Talk about coins with all the bells and whistles!
Thanks for the gold overload, everyone!

Fun thread, but I'd pretty much like all of these coins, even if they didn't have/earn a gold sticker. Otherwise, I'd have a stack of lustrous gold stickers!

It looks great in hand.
Oooohhh, I like that a lot!
Time submit them for higher grade / profits.
Nice little study on CAC Gold. I can see why each one of these shown are undergraded Gold ! Nice coins.
NGC VF25 Gold CAC
I don't like gold, but JaC I like that one...but I'm fairly certain it's not a commem.

Looks like someone had it in the same pocket they were carrying their silver in.

Last one OGH AU50
Very nice coins guys.... This thread is giving me gold fever
I've had a few; what I would consider is that the old grading was carefully thought out and based on real criteria and parameters, not just "conservative grading" for its own sake. Cac is grading based on current real market and their own standards so are willing to give the gold bean if it is no problem, original and undergraded.
