    Welcome to the forum.

The coin is clearly not a DDO. If you compare it to images of certified examples, you should be able to see conspicuous differences.

See here for some excellent pictures: https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1969-s-1c-ddo-fs-101-028-bn/37994

Some wisdom about hunting varieties that can help you:

    1. If you have to tilt it in the light and squint and stare at it for a while, it probably isn't the variety you think it is. For most major varieties, you'll know it right away.
    2. Your coin must match the images and description of the variety exactly. If for example, the doubling on your coin goes in a different direction or is not as strong as the doubling in the known images of the variety, it may be a doubled die but it isn't the one you see in the photos.

  • I have seen that one. So you are saying there is only one DDO for 1969S. Unlike many other years where there are many stages of DDO?

  • Zoom in. You can see notching and split serifs.

There is NO SUCH THING as stages of a DDO. Either it is, or it is not.

There are DIE STAGES that measure deterioration as a die wears, though.

Your coin is not the 1969-S DDO, but looks like it has been reworked after a clash, and the abariading did remove the FG in the process.

Or it is just a grease filled die. Take your pick.

I think your coin may be counterfeit.

On doubleddie.com, Wexler lists a second DDO. Only minor doubling. Even if you did have WDDO -002 (you don't), it probably wouldn't have much of a premium, especially with the staining and other damage.

The WDDO-001 is the biggie. In the very unlikely event you find one, you'll know.

Just one more input to confirm it is not the DDO.....Keep looking...and as above, when you see the real thing, you will know you have it....Cheers, RickO
