Going through a small collection this evening and found these. A whole pile of statehood quarters from the US commemorative gallery. These cost the buyer $19.95 for every $3 face. Over $300 for the set here. I’m buying them at face.

    It’s really almost criminal.

Realizing that the research I did confirmed what I was looking at. Priceless. Peace Roy

I guess I should add... I’m happiest when I’m lusting after a coin I’m about to choose to buy.

Great batch of goodies to examine. I enjoy each coin I purchase. Love looking them up in my books and organizing. I enjoy seeing what’s in the mail and adding it to my registry set.

Everyday I enjoy something in my collection.

Reading and learning is just as fun as anything else.

Watching my Registry sets climb the rankings. Looking and purchasing coins to improve my Registry ranking. Filling holes in my Dansco albums. Looking at my albums. Heck, there isn't anything I don't like about collecting.

I know a fellow collector that loves his metal detector and the coin treasures he finds! Usually his finds are quite dirty and in rough shape, but still free, save the time spent searching.

Which do you prefer, looking through circulated raw coins from a box/jar or looking through uncirculated slabbed/graded coins? I kind of enjoy holding raw coins without slabs although I know they're worth more under protective custody.

Most of my favorite things in being a coin nerd have already been said here, but here goes...

Going to the po box on my lunch to pick up my newp, opening the package is like Chistmas to me.

Coming here after the super fun package opening and filling a spot in my registry sets.

Reading on this forum nearly daily for info in the hobby I love.

Looking at all the eye candy on this forum!!

Or just sitting at my desk, having a ice cold one, looking at some of my favorite purchases

Another one for me is taking a road trip and stopping at LCS to snoop along the way. You never know what you will find.

I am taking such a trip tomorrow driving from the SF area to LA along US 101. Many LCS to be found on this route.
