I always brought cash..... The most was $8.3K at one show....Never worried about it.. always carried steel along with the currency.... ;) Cheers, RickO

I don't question your right to do so, or anything like that. But honestly, if you pulled your wallet out and some young punk grabbed it and started running away, would you really shoot him? I suspect most rational people at a crowded coin show would not pull out their firearm unless their life was in danger, for many good reasons.

You can’t shoot a person when they are running away from you. The threat is gone you need to shoot the Perp before he robs you. Once he has the goods it’s too late. Most laws require the fear of life threat in order to justify a shooting. If your in a city there could be other laws like shooting a fire arm in a city which could bring you Charges.
If your dumb enough to pull out your wallet near suspicious punks then maybe next time you would be more cautious. Just saying. Or maybe counter the Punk with a closed fist to the throat or upward thrust into the nose after his 1st attempt to steal your wallet fails as you pull away before the punk has a chance to take the money. Ohhh 😮 sorry I am watching Borne Supremacy.

@savitale ....Deadly force can only be employed in defense of deadly force (I teach the law)....So the answer is no... If a punk grabbed my wallet (I do not carry cash in my wallet, but I understand what you mean), I would employ physical force...I am very capable. Cheers, RickO

    I always use cash.
I would like to trade in and use cash.
But, I don't know any dealers that will do that.

    Cash or checks, mostly checks.

Cash or just walking away with the coin and mailing out a check once back home for payment.

...cash on cash...in a hundred years, when people are collecting credit cards and checks at the credit card/check show...I’m still paying with 💀 presidents...I’m not trying to get mustard on me checkbook ;)

Cash is king especially at shows.

Not unusual for owners of cash biz come to shows spend money. One likes nice slabbed gold coins close to melt and CC material. When u c him coming be sure the lookey looks cleared from your table so he has clear view pick out something buy.

When my good looks and suave personality doesn't get it done, I prefer to use my credit card. The 3% is mitigated by a better than 2.5% cash back from my card. Carrying a stack of cash and guns is not my style.

I've only ever taken cash. May give checks a try, but I'm afraid I won't know the dealer or have anyone to vouch for me at a show and they won't take my check.
