    What's an MM piece?

    Moonlight Mint (MM).

I don't think you can do anything about milk spots on silver. Where do you reside and how do you store your silver?

That must be the first time I have seen spots on a DC coin. I agree with AUandAG that nothing can be really done to fix it.
I would suggest putting it somewhere, or in something that might make it tone. You will still see one or two spots but the toning takes over the look.

You can try selling it, and offer free cookies.:)

A hammer will get rid of the spots - and you'll still have 1.5 oz of silver (which is not worth $60).

I had a similar (but not identical) problem on a 1917 SC Peace dollar. Dan contacted me and thought that he could probably fix it. By then, I had sold it. You might contact him to get his thoughts.

Yours looks a bit more like what is showing up on ASEs.

These were not processed like Mint ASEs. I wouldn't jump to the same conclusion -- have you tried soap and warm water? Maybe a quick dip? Will have to check mine out now ---

DC silver presumably is susceptible to the same issues as other silver

I have a DC ike dollar that developed a nasty large spot just as an unc. 40% Ike might do.

Check with Dan.... He may be able to help....Milk spots on silver coins cannot be removed.... but perhaps Dan processes things differently and this is not the same manifestation. Cheers, RickO

Obviously I can not control the environment that at item is subjected to after I part with it. But, in general, spotting like that is not normal. If you send it to me I will either conserve it if possible or replace it if necessary.

Never had issues with my DC stuff, besides nice toning on my 1 oz. Buff rounds, good luck.
