A colorful NEWP for the Libertas Americana collection

This just arrived today:
I purchased this from a German company, and it arrived today from China. (Cost $9.95, shipping included) It's quite attractive, but somehow, I just don't think it will get a straight grade!

I have to be honest. You blindsided me with that one

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Obviously, it’s a Chinese fake, but it was sold as a paperweight. (I have a number of the various knock-offs for a database of the fakes out there.) That said, it is closer in design to the Paris Mint restrikes and could fool someone that isn’t familiar with the precise elements of the design.
Gorgeous piece, despite too much starch in the itsy bitsy tiny hat.

...and what a beautiful paperweight it is!

Nice paperweight...and the pictures are very flattering....I would not be averse to having one as a desk piece... neat to look at and no fear of damage....Cheers, RickO
Did it come with egg rolls?
No... but it did come in a small package with Chinese writing on one side, and English on the other!
Aside from the inscriptions being too close to the edge, the real telling part of the fake is the bulging muscles on the lion. Have you ever seen a lion with a six-pack??
Still, it is way more attractive than earlier knock-offs, like these:
For 10 clams you can't go wrong. That has a nice look.
I'll start the bidding at $15.
