OK, first of all, I never said Kobe Bryant was the "best player" in the league...I said he's the best OVERALL player in the league, while Shaq is the most dominate. Michael Jordan has said HIMSELF that Kobe is the best overall player in the NBA today. And, that's coming from the G.O.A.T. Even Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Phil Jackson, Michael Wilburn from PTI (great sports journalist who knows his stuff), and of course, Dr. Jack Ramsay...and you KNOW your up there if Dr. Jack says your the best overall player in the NBA today. He's been around the game for over 50 years and knows his NBA...if you even know who the man is.

LOL, OK, well look who he's playing with! If you have Shaq on your team, do you think your going to win the NBA Finals MVP? It's a slim chance. Hell, put ANYONE with Shaq INCLUDING a Michael Jordan, and even MJ himself wouldn't have won Finals MVP honors. It's plain and simple. There's no use in even arguing this because it's meaningless. It's like taking a motorboat into the desert...there's no point. But, I don't think if there was Kobe, then they wouldn't win championships either, because look at what he average in the year's finals!!! He had some great overall games, and even dominated and took over some of the games. Your acting like Kobe is a bench player or something. It's just like last year's playoffs when he got NO CREDIT yet he averaged 29+ PPG, 5+ RPG, 5+ APG, 1.5 SPG...if that's not contributing to the team, then I don't know what is. No Kobe = no championships...No Shaq = No Championships...No Shaq and Kobe = No championships...With Shaq and Kobe = Many championships and a long dynasty.
In the first place, i am unsure of the difference between "the best player" and the "best overall player" is exactly. But i'd have to say Shaq is te best overall player as well, especially since the big goof actually started hitting his FT's. He's as good a scorer, a much better rebounder (the size helps of course), and the ebst passing center not named Vlade. I assure you that Shaq would win more without Kobe than Kobe would without Shaq, and i hope you aren't ignorant enough to try and refute that point. Kobe is awesome, so don't put words in my mouth, i never even hinted that Kobe was "a benchwarmer or something", so go ahead and get that out. Kobe is awesome? Yes. Kobe is the best player in the league? Not hardly...

You guys have to keep in mind that Allen Iverson does all that he does while being 6 feet tall, and weighing a whopping 160 pounds, and not having a decent second scoring option on his team. Take Iverson off of the Sixers and they are the WORST team in the league..... Take Kobe off of the Lakers and they are still in the playoffs. So you can't compare Kobe and Iverson

That was the second game he played without shaq the first was on christmas day where kobe and the lakers beat iverson and sixers without shaq. Kobe was 1 assist shy of a triple double that game and he had hurt ribs which almost didn't even let him play. That game where he score 56 in 3 quarters was for the critics. The critics before that game said kobe couldn't score without shaq. He shut all of them up period. Kobe could of easily kept playing and break jordans record of 69 easy, but he choose to have class and sit out the entire 4th quarter knowning he would many more days like it.

Jus like Jerik said...Kobe has no MVPs. He doestn deserve em. Its Shaqs team. Him and Rick Fox are the only players I like on the lakers.
