My Walmart just has blasters. Are people still buying those?
The golden era of retail is over. I think 2020 was the last decent year and 2019 was the last year where you could buy volume at retail.
The only two 2022 retail football blaster that were worth anything are the Target Rookie & Stars and Donruss Optic FB. The rest are garbage. Prices went up as well making the math harder.

Yeah I stopped buying blasters about five years ago.

Trading cards sold in Target are remarkably identical to those seen in Walmart aisles. As a result, some collectors frequently switch between Target and Walmart to finish their collections. The other options are KMarts, Dollar Tree, and Best Buy, where you can try your luck. Baseball cards were once sold at Toys R Us before it closed.
This posting started July 3, 2019 during covid when people where going crazy for cards in Target and Walmart. Target and Walmart are still selling cards and they are selling very well .
I havent bought wax for years, but i always wander over to see what they have. 90% of the time the card isle is a hot mess with product strewed all over the place. nothing is priced so you have zero idea how much things cost. All i ever buy are penny sleeves and one-touch magnetics when in stock

This depends completely on where you live. When I travel to smaller towns, the local Target has a nice selection. The closer you get to an urban area it's gets less and less. I was in mid-PA for work and I hit a load of Optic and Rookie & Stars blasters, I almost couldn't believe it. I live near Los Angeles and they pretty much pulled them from a lot of stores due to theft. You see a few stragglers here and there but its nothing like 2019.

Seems to me that selling cards became too much of a headache, specifically a security headache, for too small a profit margin.
