PSA labels for sale? 52 Mantle, 86 Rice, 81 Montana

I just saw this listing and I can't believe that this allowed. I am hoping someone can show the lot on this thread. The eBay item number is 163761606779. This is wrong on so many levels.

Here's the lot. Starting bid $99.95 or BIN for $129.95

They are worth money as PCGS will pay you .50cents for cracked out labels so they can update pop reports. Although I dont think that is what the seller (or buyer if there is one) is thinking. My guess is the will fall into the wrong hands and be used in fake PSA slabs. Not sure it violates any ebay policy. Although it should IMO.

They probably will fall into the wrong hands.

Thanks doubledragon for the picture. I can see these labels, which are legitimate labels, being purchased and altered. Someone dishonest can remove the evid trim and authentic markings and put in an actual grade. An inexperienced buyer may not realize that they purchased a fake card with an authentic but tampered label. I don't know what PSA policy is but for questionable cards that are returned, I believe PSA should send some other type of notification instead of an authentic label. Not only is the fraudster getting a real label, but now they can examine all of the security features that PSA uses on these labels to create fake ones.

What good could possibly come from selling these flips?

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

You're welcome pab1969. That is a very scary thought. If these do end up in the wrong hands, some major damage can be done.

That fact that all these labels are deemed altered and/or trimmed shows that this person already has some questionable cards. This person is sleazy imo and PSA should have some sort of arrangement with eBay in which these type of listings should not be allowed.

Thank you for posting this auction. I have sent it through the necessary channels. It should be removed soon.

Curious why PSA sends these types of flips back to someone completely in tact. PSA I recommend before you guys send these back cut the flips in half right down the middle frop top to bottom and that will eliminate anyone from being able to easily do something shady with them. This would be super easy to do I would think compared to say printing out some sort of different flips for rejected cards.

PSA should be able to tell by the cert # if all four are from the same submitter, maybe they should contact the person whether if he's this auction's seller or not to findout how they ended up for sale on ebay.

Are you sure this is the case? I've thought about writing to PSA and asking them

PSA won’t pay you for old labels.

I believe he may be referring to coin cases, but I do not have first hand knowledge of if they do. He did imply though that we were still discussing the graded card labels.

PCGS will pay you 50c per label for their coins. This is to keep up with crackouts and pop reports. I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that PSA did the same thing. If they did one, why not the other.
