What's the deal with the 1989 Donruss Griffey?

Why are the prices for this card so high? I mean a PSA 10 Griffey is awesome but what makes the Donruss card so special and valuable?

I remember Wal-Mart sold these team sets by the case load...I still have one somewhere.
