Those 20oz. Scottsdale bars are nice! Very chunky in the hand. I used to have one but I sold it in a deal when I switched most of my silver holdings to gold. Didn’t pick up any new metals but my LCS had a few of these plastic holders that I like for my raw AGEs.

I wasn't a buyer this week for myself. My furnace has been running nonstop though. Firing up right away in the morning again.
Only way premiums on $20's will ever go up is if we keep melting them.
home at last

What's the advantage of melting them? Don't you get melt price either way? I'm a fan of pre-33 gold as bullion because of the convenient sizes and coins' histories.

Melting pre. Is an act of treason.
Actually many of the raw pieces are back of melt by 1-3%. By melting everything Im netting 99.5% from my refiner.
Most of what was melted in this lot was damaged in one way or another. I only brought its tortured life to an end. If I could post a video I would show how quickly it turns to a puddle.
Step up and buy 100+ damaged pieces at melt a month.
@Jinx86.... I would like to see a video of your coins melting...I have not done that, it would be interesting. Cheers, RickO
Why is that? You aren't refining the gold, just changing the shape, so why would the refiner reduce the discount 2X to 6X? At 1% back versus .5%, I wonder if you cover the cost of the fuel to bring your furnace up to temp...
I don’t think I could melt those eagles but it’s not my gold. If it makes since to you jinx, I say do it. I know a little bit different, but I’m going to melt all these perfectly crafted Franklin mint commemorative coins and use the sterling to cast my own amateur homemade medal with. I know somebody will probably think that’s a shame. I went to my local coin shop and said I need some sterling for my project and he said I got just the right thing and whipped those out. This will cast 2 of my medals.
@WildIdea looks like a sleeve of silver Ritz crackers.

Low mintage coins, I like the 80’s and 90’s pandas.
I’m probably in them strong, but got them for $50 each.

@asheland Love the variety of your collection of both silver and gold. Nice mix of premium rounds to old poured bars! If ya don’t mind, I may reach out to you and pick your brain about a gold type set I’m starting. Nothing compared to yours, but I want to venture out of gold bullion and into some older gold.

Coin Junky...
@spirityoda1.... Where is the silver tarantula available? Or was it a one of a kind? Cheers, RickO
@ricko It was bought on Ebay. The seller casts them and then bends them. I will see of I can find it for you. No 2 are the same.
