Going 63 on number 2 and that is the one that sold for more
61/63 number 2 sold for more.
60/63......No guess on sales....weird things happen in auctions... Cheers, RickO
55/62 Higher price paid for the 1873
Note: they are both 1878
64/62 1873 paid the most
For all those guessing, there is no 1873. Both coins are dated 1878.
I'm thinking AU58 on both but the reverse on #2 looks MS. I would pay more for #2.
55/58 and the second one was more costly.

Some are close...I’ll reveal later tonight
@U1Chicago It always helps me to enlarge the👇images to highest resolution to estimate grading from photos.
Coin #1: MS-62
Coin #2: AU-58
Based on my presumed grades, Coin #1 Should have sold for more than Coin #2.
[See Red Box in 5th image👇below where I discerned Coin #2 exhibited Light Wear (and Fingerprint) to justify my AU-58 grade.]

58 and 62 .... the 1878 sold for more! 🤣😂😅
Coin 1: UNC Details - Environmental Damage...sold for $552.38
Coin 2: AU 58 w/ CAC...sold for $502.88
Some thoughts:
~I thought the two coins were fairly close in appearance.
~I favored the look of coin 1 (the details one) slightly more.
~I thought the details example was a good opportunity to pick up a decent Trade Dollar at a discount due to the holder, but it seems a few others also saw it was a decent coin and bid it up

ED was on my mind when I looked at her but I was giving her the benefit of doubt. I still see it as not UNC. Even if it had straight graded I still think coin #2 is the better coin.
If submitted enough, I think the first one would eventually straight grade.
So a putatively damaged low grade unc is worth more than a CAC 58... Interesting. I would have guessed the second coin would have fetched more as it has superior eye appeal IMHO.
@MFeld @TradeDollarNut Based on my👇following grading assessment posted earlier in this thread (the only only one to correctly grade Coin #1 _MS_ and Coin #2 _AU_), perhaps I should consider becoming a Professional Grader!! 😉👍

Sorry, Stuart, but no. In my opinion, a guess of MS62 on the first coin missed the mark more than a guess of AU58 did. And making guesses based on images is very different from grading in person. You can guess "correctly" from an image and still be "wrong" or guess "incorrectly" and still be "right".

@MFeld You know that I greatly respect your opinion and am a big fan of yours, so I gratefully accept your constructive criticism. 👍
(I’m just honored to be in the same Grading Neighborhood as you and @TradeDollarNut.) 😉
