Alaskan Gold Rush? nugget pin!

Found this beauty at one of my LCS. I think it dates to around the Alaskan Gold Rush Era. It tested electronically at about 18k to 19k. Weighs 6.2 grams and has a pin on the back of it. Still has some quartz attached as well. The pin is a tube hinge with a C clasp which is how I dated it to the Alaskan Gold Rush. Nuggets in the Alaskan Gold Rush were commonly converted into jewelry pieces like this but sadly many have been melted through out time. https://www.realorrepro.com/article/Dating-brooch-fasteners
